From humble beginnings
Mellow Constructions’ small team of experts came together after being commissioned by a major international brand to produce permanent branding in ski areas around the country. The following year saw The Nanshan Open plant its roots as an international media focused event, growing in to what is now China’s most recognized snowboard event. As the company has developed, a solid, diverse and loyal team of industry professionals has been built around it.
Each and every member of the Mellow Constructions team has a background in board sports and is an expert on the Chinese market. CEO Steve Zdarsky, known locally to many as the ‘Godfather’ of Chinese snowboarding, directs the team of highly skilled employees and contractors, that offer a diverse range of services including event management, production, distribution and consulting.

The core of Mellow Constructions
operations is to build and maintain China’s finest snowparks. Playing host to an ever-increasing number of events, these parks have gained praise worldwide, with the Quiksilver Nanshan Mellow Park and last year opened China’s finest indoor park, the NIKE 6.0 Summer Lab. Each Mellow Park is meticulously maintained and frequently updated by a tight crew of dedicated and passionate shapers.
Last year the Quiksilver Nanshan Mellow Park played host to the 8th Red Bull Nanshan Open. With US$25,000 prize money and 4-star TTR status, the event gained considerable local and international media attention including a 1-hour special on CCTV-5, China’s major sports channel and headlining all major snowboard websites and featured in core media publications.

As China's only professional single-plate film, the film has produced 12 films (one each year) since 2008.Single-pane movies record the details of the park and the journey of the team to shoot and ski in different countries."The film includes well-known skiers from home and abroad and has a high impact at home, especially on snowplains and brands. The premiere has become a representative event of the annual opening of various regional parties before the snow season."In 2018, there were as many as 24 cities on line one or two lines, with more than 100,000 online clicks.
